Teryon Newbold-Hudson plays and teaches violin, piano, and voice across many different styles, including classical, gospel, hymns, and spirituals. His experience as a musician started in middle school orchestra, and he hasn’t stopped performing yet! Teryon served as concertmaster his senior year of high school.
In college, his experience expanded to even more leadership roles, such as student conductor, section leader, and more.
One of Teryon’s favorite performance memories was conducting his college choir in the song called “More Abundantly” by Ricky Dillard. “This song required me to lean backwards while conducting sections back and forth,” he recalls.
Teryon strives to show his students that they can learn fun things, such as the music from their favorite shows, plays, songs, or movies—making music more enjoyable and relatable for his students. “I want to inspire students through music and help them experience the beauty of music in their own lives,” Teryon shares.
In addition to playing NINE instruments, Teryon has played tennis for nearly two decades, and works as a tennis coach for kids. He’s a big fan of the show “Steven Universe,” and he is a skater and has a good jump shot in basketball. Teryon’s faith is very important to him, and he currently serves as a worship leader for Rapha Church.
