Brodie Gross is 14 years old and studies piano under Metro Music Makers instructor Badie Khaleghian.
What instruments are you learning, and how long have you been studying them?
I’ve been studying piano for three years.
Why did you choose that instrument?
Piano is a great solo instrument allowing for much range of mastery.
What kind of music do you like to listen to? Who’s your favorite band or musician?
I listen to a wide variety of music, from Tyler the Creator to Beethoven.
What do you love about music?
It’s a great vehicle for expressing emotion, plus I love performing.
What do you like to do when you’re not playing music?
Lately, I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos, but I’m also interested in video production/film.
Do you play any sports or do any other activities outside of music lessons?
I usually do tennis in the fall and spring.
What’s your proudest accomplishment so far in life?
It might be learning and performing these six pieces for the performance. Aside from that, I wrote a paper analyzing the film Get Out last year that I was very proud of.
What’s your favorite movie or TV show?
I loved Parasite from last year. For TV shows, Arrested Development is probably my favorite.
What’s your favorite food?
I love sushi.
What’s your favorite subject in school?
Language Arts
What else would you like to tell us about yourself?
I’m starting high school this year and looking forward to it!
